Renovations were completed in 2008. The original bead-board paneling and tin ceiling have been restored. The Hoosier cabinet, wood stove, and Winchester bureau accompany the soapstone sink and cabinets given in memory of Betty Whippie (the wife of one of the Winchester Historical Society’s founders). Note the versatility of the Hoosier cabinet. Point out that the wood stove wouldn’t have been attached to a wooden wall, that there was a brick fireplace in that space. The pantry houses a display of kitchen items.
The office room was once the double butler’s pantry.
